We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to lead the Western Health Day Oncology team.

The Day Oncology unit is located at Sunshine Hospital on 1E. The Day Oncology unit operates from Monday to Friday from 0800-1730. The treatment areas includes 15 chemotherapy chairs and a procedure room with 2 recovery bays for oncology related invasive procedures. The unit also includes Sunbury Day Hospital which has 3 chemotherapy chairs that operate on Wednesdays and Fridays from 0800-1630. Operating from the Sunshine site is also our Oncology Hospital in the Home program which delivers cancer therapeutics agents to a select group of patients in their home. Oncology HITH operate 6 days a week from 0800-1630. The Symptom Urgent Review Clinic (SURC) is a nurse lead clinic that is responsible for the education and management of new patients receiving chemotherapy. This is an exciting unit with a high skill set and a diverse area for nurses to work within.

The Day Oncology NUM is a key leadership role within Cancer Services with direct responsibility for the operational, professional and clinical service management of the unit. The NUM will ensure collaboration with other clinical services within the Aged, Continuing Care and Cancer Services Division and foster a culture of inclusiveness, trust, flexibility, accountability and continuous quality improvement.

To be successful in this role you:

Registrations as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Hold postgraduate qualifications in Cancer Nursing and/or relevant clinical experience Will be a keen team player Be passionate about leading staff by role modelling exemplary professional behaviour Have a high level of motivation to provide Best Care Have a commitment to nursing excellence Possess excellent communication skills
