The role:The Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2019 provides for the advancement of an appointed Nurse Practitioner Candidate (Grade 6) to a Nurse Practitioner position (Grade 8, Level 3) upon meeting specific requirements. Please refer to the Advancement of the Nurse Practitioner Candidate to Nurse Practitioner Policy for further information.
The Nurse Practitioner Candidate Cancer Care: Provides quality clinical care as a Grade 6 nurse whilst developing knowledge and skills in advanced practice nursing specific to the role and scope of the Nurse Practitioner – Cancer Care.Undertakes a program of study approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) leading to endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner – Cancer Care.Undertakes clinical experience as specified by the tertiary education provider to develop capability in knowledge, skill and experience as an advanced practice nurse.Develops attributes in the domains of leadership, education, research, and advanced practice nursing toward meeting the expectation of the NMBA Nurse Practitioner Standards for Practice 2021.The area: Hospitals South - Medicine and Cancer Services Working within a collaborative oncology/haematology team including nursing, medicine, allied health and administrative personnel.The NP Cancer Care candidate is based in the oncology outpatient setting.The NP Cancer Care candidate will work across haematology, medical and radiation oncology.Details of Appointment:Fixed term, full time, day worker, position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately two (2) years. Notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.Salary: $111,506 - $118,336 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum.Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023.Eligibility:Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse with no conditions or undertakings on registration relating to unsatisfactory professional performance or unprofessional conduct.Enrolled in a NMBA approved Nurse Practitioner program of study at master's level and actively working towards same.Possess a minimum of five (5) years full time equivalent experience in a relevant clinical practice area.The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
