Nurse Manager - Nursing and Midwifery Workforce ServicesThe Townsville Hospital and Health Service vision is world-class healthcare for northern Queensland.Our purpose is great care every day.The Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Service (NMWS) assists and advises line managers and employees on a range of recruitment and employment matters including nursing and midwifery graduates.The role of the Nurse Manager is to facilitate and provide nursing leadership, support, clinical and education accountabilities of the NMST and casual nursing/midwifery workforce.
This position provides resource management and strategic management to support the delivery of high quality, best practice care across the organisation.Employment TermFixed Term Temporary full-time, from 02.12.2024 up to 16.03.2025 with possible extension not exceeding 12 months.Role requirementsMandatory: Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Midwifery or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable.
Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.The applicant ideally will have a working knowledge of a range of software packages used in the clinical and management environment, including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Access, Matrix, and Power Point.Generous remuneration package value up to $13,724 p.m. comprising:Wage rate ranges between $5081.10 - $5516.60 p.f.
(NG7)Annual leave + loading12.75% employer superannuation contributionProfessional Development allowance + leaveOther employment benefits may include: salary sacrificing options, Uniform and locality allowances, employee wellness and assistance programs, and access to corporate discounts.The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:Provide expert nursing leadership and coordination within a nursing and midwifery environment.Sound knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory and the ability to apply relevant legislation, guidelines, and standards.Integrate the strategic direction and priorities for quality improvement into the clinical service, establishing a quality framework.Advanced leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution, and change management skills to ensure customer focused service provision amongst the multidisciplinary team.High level of communication skills required for problem solving and decision making.Use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position.Ongoing professional development of self and others.Understanding of teaching and learning in the health care environment (adult learning principles) with demonstrated clinical teaching and facilitation skills.Please refer to the Role Description for further details.#J-18808-Ljbffr
