Working within a security team, the role includes the implementation of security requests and involvement in new network technologies, installations as well as incident and problem management.ResponsibilitiesProvide Incident response and resolution for security related tickets that includes, but not limited to; firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention, virtual private networks, cloud hosted systems and authentication services within the contracted SLA time.Perform periodic security health checks and ensure integrity of services including patch management. Incorporate relevant security reporting information and data to produce monthly reports per agreed schedules.Create and maintain work instructions for security services and operational tasks.Provide technical advice and assistance and support to customers and staff in the resolution of system and application type faults as required.Proactive involvement in security service improvements and implementation of new technologiesGreat communication skills with the ability to respond to stressful situations calmly and confidently.Skills & Experience2+ years of experience in a similar security, or network security role.3+ years of network experience.Very good knowledge of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, firewalls, routing and switching), and network security systems.Good analytical & problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, as well as the ability to work well in a dynamic environment.Good written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.Qualifications Desirable:Bachelor Degree of IT (Security preferred).Security vendor certification: Cisco, Fortinet, Checkpoint or Palo Alto.At NEC, we are a diverse and an inclusive workplace, that can make adjustments or workplace modifications if required.
