About the Role The Native Title Anthropologist will be responsible for providing anthropological advice in relation to the implementation of the Aboriginal Land Rights (NT) Act 1976 (Cth) (ALRA) and the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) (NTA).
The primary focus of this position is to identify, represent and assist traditional Aboriginal owners (TAOs) and Native Title Holders (NTHs) in matters arising from the acquisition, use, occupation and management of their land under ALRA and the NTA.
This position will be required to undertake extensive fieldwork across the NLC region, therefore you must have a Current C Class (manual) Drivers Licence and the ability to travel for extended periods in vehicle or light aircraft.

In addition to this, you will have:
Degree in Anthropology, or related discipline; or extensive experience in a similar industry or role. A working knowledge of the ALRA, the NTA and other relevant Legislation that impacts the NLC, or the ability to rapidly acquire such knowledge. Proven ability to research, prepare and draft anthropological reports, associated materials and other documents fit for purpose. What's in it for you? This role provides a unique opportunity to support our Aboriginal communities in the NLC Region.
We offer: A base salary of $81,716 per annum plus 14.5% superannuation A base salary of $98,720 per annum plus superannuation for Senior/Specialist Anthropologists with minimum four (4) years practical experience. Salary sacrificing up to $15,900 + Meal Entertainment and Holiday Accommodation benefits up to $2,650 per year. Other benefits under our Enterprise Agreement include:
District allowance of up to $4,797 per annum for individuals with dependents and $2,630 without dependents. 5 weeks annual leave, leaving loading, 18 days personal leave; Paid Christmas close down; Upon completion of 12 months of service an Annual airfare with a net (in hand) value of $2,961.
