 The ideal candidates will:Enjoy participating on the front line in our beautiful bushland across NSW. In addition to working everywhere, from the islands of the South Coast to the remote corner country and Australian high country – and do everything – from assisting our volunteers in fire operations, to maintaining fire trails and protecting the most vulnerable persons of our communityPossess or be working towards the NSW RFS Bush Firefighter certification (BF) or its equivalentA current Drivers Licence, Class P2 or aboveBe able to pass the arduous pack testBe deemed medically fit for the role (medical assessment)Have a “Can-do” mindset and approach to community serviceHave no impediment to extended travel
 For a Crew Leader role, you will also possess:NSW RFS Crew Leader certification (CL) or its equivalentA current Class MR Driver Licence (or willingness and ability to obtain a Medium Rigid Drivers Licence within 12 months for ATSI identified roles only)Experience andor qualifications in the use of plant and machinery (desirable)
 Further exciting opportunities are available at Bargo NSW for the provision of bush fire mitigation and bush fire response management in water catchment areas. These opportunities are available to those who hold Advanced Firefighter (AF) certification or its equivalent and further training will be provided such as Helicopter Insertion Techniques (HIT), Operate Remote Environment (ORE), Remote First Aid (RFA).  Salary for the roles is commensurate on candidate’s skills and experience.Mitigation Crew Member (RFS1): $68,338 package. Includes salary ($58,088 - $62,410), employer's contribution to superannuation and annualised leave loading. Mitigation Crew Leader (RFS 23): $78,385 package. Includes salary ($65,849 - $71,585), employer's contribution to superannuation and annualised leave loading.
