We're looking for an accomplished marketer to create and guide the strategic direction and operational execution of our company's expansion into Japan. You will be our first Marketing hire dedicated to Japan. You'll work with local agencies and cross-functionally with the NYC-based marketing and product teams to plan & execute localized go-to-market plans that include creator marketing, partnerships, PR, CRM, paid media, and community building efforts. Your experience in creator and influencer marketing will be key to success in this role. Combining a breadth of marketing expertise and proven success in market expansion, you will be a key contributor to the Squarespace's international business.
You will report to the Head of Marketing, APAC. You will have the choice of working remote or hybrid (2-3 days per week) from our co-working space in Sydney.
You'll Get To…
Create and own the marketing plan for Squarespace in Japan
Build Squarespace's cultural relevance through the planning and execution of strategic events and partnerships, and community programs
Work with partners, customers and vendors to secure their collaboration in marketing initiatives
Monitor and track the progress of projects from start to finish and compile ongoing reporting
Manage local agencies (briefing, providing strategic direction, executional oversight)
Partner with Media, Communications, CRM, and Brand Strategy teams to optimize across channels
Use consumer insights to get a deeper understanding of our consumer and provide direction back to our Product organization
Maintain current knowledge of local cultural trends and media consumption patterns
Drive growth and impact across all major international KPIs: customers, revenue, conversion, marketing ROI, LTV, and retention
Available to travel internationally, including regular travel to Japan
Who We're Looking For
7+ years of marketing / growth experience, ideally in consumer tech or a closely related industry
Proven success launching products in new markets without an existing presence
Experience managing agency partners
Deep knowledge across digital and traditional marketing channels
Experience managing creator / influencer marketing programs
Understanding of localization and how cultural perspectives influence go-to-market plans
Comfort navigating through ambiguity in a dynamic environment
Professional fluency in both Japanese and English
