Housed in one of Australia's most prominent national heritage listed buildings, the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House (MoAD) is the first museum in Australia dedicated to telling the story of the journey of our democracy. It seeks to provide a range of innovative exhibitions, tours, interpretation, education programs and public activities that will inspire and challenge visitors to explore democracy from its ancient roots to the present day and possible futures. POSITION DETAILS The Marketing and Communications Manager will report directly to the Head of Development, Marketing, Communications and Commercial. They will lead a small team to develop and deliver innovative, effective and impactful marketing, media, and communications strategies and campaigns. They will focus on stakeholder engagement opportunities as well overseeing a range of events and the promotion of exhibitions, programs and engagement opportunities for the Museum as well as being able to provide advice on issues management as they arise. Working across MoAD, the Marketing and Communications manager will help to drive the continued development of the Museum's brand and will promote organisational success, growth, innovation, and the implementation of various strategies to reach new audiences. APPLICATION PACK EL1 Manager Marketing and Communications DUTIES The Marketing and Communications Manager will work closely with the Head Development, Marketing, Communications and Commercial to achieve MoAD's marketing and communication ambitions, they will be expected to: • Lead and manage a small team to ensure high quality, innovative, coordinated,delivery of communications, marketing and event services. • Plan, develop and manage MoAD's brand as well as develop marketing campaignsfor exhibitions, events and programs (including the development of a range ofcollateral) within budgets and timeframes. • Provide data to assist in the analysis of campaign success and public engagementagainst organisational KPI's. • Forward plan strategic communications and media products that build public interestprior, and achieve public participation of, MoAD events and/or exhibitions. • Provide advice on issues management as required. • Oversee all aspects of internal and external communications in line with policies andguidelines. • Build strategic relations and working with the Development team identify mediapartnering opportunities; provide support and maintain relationships with MoAD'sexisting media partners and ensure service offerings and initiatives remaincompetitive. • Maintain effective relations with stakeholders, staff, tourism industry partners,corporate clients, and MoAD Executives. • Provide input to Board papers, exhibitions, and other reports as requested. • Contribute to MoAD's annual budget process; manage the communication and marketing budget and general administration on a day-to-day basis. KEY ATTRIBUTES The key attributes of the role include: • Proven track record of delivering successful marketing and communicationcampaigns including demonstrated strategic thinking and analytical skills. • A high level of motivation, initiative, judgment, and commitment, together with ademonstrated ability to manage workloads and priorities to meet organisationalobjectives. • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the judgement to consultsenior stakeholders and collaborate with peers when required. • Demonstrated experience in managing a small team to achieve results and reachtargets. • Demonstrated capacity to use creative and innovative ideas and lateral approachesin delivering agreed outcomes on time and within budget. • Experience in communication, marketing and events within the cultural sector wouldbe an advantage.
