Full-Time PositionBased in WindsorGreat team culture - Apply today!About the CompanyJewish Care Victoria, a not-for-profit organisation, is the largest provider of aged and community services for the Jewish Community in Victoria.Jewish Care employs staff from all cultural and religious backgrounds and provides training in the Jewish Ethos.About the RoleWe are looking for a Maintenance Officer toensure our buildings are maintained for safe and reliable work practices for staff and provide a comfortable living environment for residents.Responsibilities IncludeTurf maintenancePruning, tree care, and tree maintenanceOperation and maintenance of gardening equipmentMaintain car parks and other hard standing areas so they remain free from debris, overgrown vegetation, and weeds\Advise the Property Manager of required works to maintain properties to a high standard of upkeepUndertake general purpose paint works including, preparation repairs and application of appropriate painting works to suit the color, environment and surfaceUndertake plaster repair and make goodCarry out minor repairs and maintenance to Jewish Care Victoria properties, in all areas including the car park, kitchen, laundry, residents rooms, activity and administration areas in accordance with OHS guidelines and relevant statutory and compliance requirements i.e. Australian Standards and/or Code or Practice.Work with the administrative team in the generation or work orders as required to maintain JCV properties to an agreed standardPrioritise all work orders through the maintenance request system and complete within specified time frame in order to meet expected service delivery times and customer expectations.Carry out on-going condition assessments throughout Jewish Care Victoria properties, reporting any damage or faults and recording maintenance and repairs as necessary.Purchase of supplies and materials within financial delegation and ensure that all tax receipts and invoices are provided and submitted promptly for reconciliation.Assist with room set-ups and set downs, office relocations and movement of furniture as and when required.Assisting with emergency procedures as requiredMonitor contractor's performance and report outcomes to Property Manager/Procurement Manager when directed.Ensure plant and equipment is used in a safe manner, is serviced, tested and tagged and is used in accordance with the manufacturers intended use.Be pro-active in caring for the health and safety of all people within our work environmentWhat we are looking forTrade background qualifications with a preference in Painting and Gardening/Grounds MaintenanceTrade qualification and/or relevant working experience.Current drivers licence and reliable carKnowledge and understanding of OHS/Manual Handling/Safe Work PracticesForklift/ EWP or "D" class Electrical licence desirable but not essentialWhy Jewish Care is the best choice for your career:Salary Packaging – as a not-for-profit organisation, our staff benefit from some Fringe Benefit Tax exemptions through salary packaging up to $15,900 p.a + up to $2,650 p.a on meal & entertainment.Ethos Day – a culturally enriching learning experience that helps understanding the history, culture, ethos and mission of Jewish CareEmployee Assistance ProgramReward & Recognition ProgramEmployee Referral ProgramLearning and development – opportunities to progress in your career internally.If this sounds like an opportunity in the next step of your career, and you want to work for an organisation that supports you to succeed both personally and professionally, click APPLY and commence your journey with Jewish Care Victoria.Jewish Care is committed to protecting clients and staff members from all forms of harm and abuse.
