Legal Counsel

Flexible Location - Melbourne/SydneyWhat you'll doWe're looking for a high-energy Legal Counsel to join our consistent Legal Team, providing risk aware counseling and assistance to the Equifax business in Australia. This is a hands-on role, with significant exposure to business stakeholders.Legal services you will provide include: legal and advice on a variety of issues, in particular privacy (including credit reporting) and data, consumer and consumer credit law; drafting and negotiation of complex customer and supplier contracts, involvement in industry regulator and industry body interactions; and involvement in business and technology transformation projects.What experience you needTertiary qualified with undergraduate law degree and holding a current practicing certificatesCommercial lawyer with at least 2 years' post admission experienceA passion for Privacy/data lawProven commercial contract drafting, review and negotiation skillsAbility to explain legal concepts in a commercial clear and practical wayStrong verbal and written communication skillsCapacity to assume responsibility and work independently, while collaboratively working as part of a team.Strong organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with senior managementWhat could set you apartPrior in house experienceExperience in a technology/data related environmentConsumer credit law experience#J-18808-Ljbffr
