The OpportunityAs a member of our greenfield Legal and Compliance Team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our transformational strategy.
This is an exceptional opportunity to navigate and influence a wide range of legal issues, providing creative and pragmatic support to ensure the success of our operations.
You'll join a growing Legal and Compliance Team currently consisting of 4 members.
Our team operates across Sydney and Auckland, and you will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to drive our mission forward.
Key Responsibilities:You will play a crucial role in several key areas:
Create & Build:Develop and enhance legal and compliance frameworks, processes, and resources in collaboration with relevant functions.Implement a legal engagement strategy that establishes the value of the Legal and Compliance Team within Suntory Oceania.Perform:Marketing & Innovation: Review consumer and customer marketing activities, product regulations, and sponsorship arrangements.Intellectual Property: Collaborate with global IP specialists on relevant initiatives for the Oceania market.Governance & Compliance: Advise on competition law, employment, privacy, and health and safety, while providing training to upskill the business.Contracts: Manage commercial matters, including revising templates, drafting, negotiating, and supporting a variety of agreements.Commercial: Partner with project teams to identify and mitigate legal and compliance risks.Additional Support: Provide legal assistance to other business functions as required.Transform:Act as a trusted advisor and creative problem solver in support of Suntory Oceania's growth, including the launch of alcoholic beverages and our first Australian facility.What You Bring:Current practising certificate in New South Wales.Familiarity with relevant legislations and regulations, including key reference points.Prior experience as an in-house lawyer (Ideally 3 years).Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.Strong commercial acumen with a collaborative approach, adaptable to a dynamic environment.A strong sense of initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.The confidence to make independent and informed decisions.Flexibility to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment and adjust to changing needs.A knack for finding creative solutions to improve processes and outcomes.A humble and approachable demeanor, valuing collaboration.Commitment to good morals and ethical practices in all aspects of work.Unleash Your Spirit!As Suntorians we believe in Dreaming Big and Growing for Good.
