In this position, you will undertake teaching and independent research in an area related to the core disciplines of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and/or Genetics. You will develop a vibrant research program supported by nationally competitive grant funding and/or industry engagement, and attracting and supervising Honours, Masters and PhD students and postdoctoral researchers. You will deliver high-quality face-to-face and online teaching sessions and effective coordination of teaching and learning activities across the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and/or Genetics curricula.You will be supported to develop your career through a generous start-up package, formal mentoring arrangements, peer observation of teaching, and professional development opportunities in both research and teaching activities.About you You will be a collaboratively-minded colleague, and an enthusiastic educator committed to developing skills demonstrating teaching excellence. You will have a strong focus on the student experience, through the delivery of quality face-to-face and on-line teaching sessions and effective coordination of teaching and learning activities across the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and/or Genetics curricula.To be considered for this opportunity, you will have: A PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, another academic field relevant to the discipline or other appropriate higher professional qualificationA demonstrable track record of excellence in research evidenced by peer-reviewed journal articles published in high quality journals, relative to opportunity A demonstrable emerging track record of competitive funding success, relative to opportunity Demonstrate evidence of successful supervision or co-supervision of HDR students, relative to opportunity Strong communication and collaboration skills, and motivation for team successCapability to deliver and coordinate effective teaching, including research-based training, to large student cohorts and develop assessment and other materials for units and courses, including online resourcesExperience with, or willingness to, gain competency in learning management software and electronic learning environments
