Koori Social and Emotional Wellbeing Officer (Mental Health) Job posted: 13/06/2024Organisation: The Royal Children's HospitalOccupation: Health and Allied HealthReference: 11790Job posted: 13/06/2024Closes: 27/06/2024Occupation: Health and Allied HealthClassification: UndefinedJob duration: Not providedReference: 11790Occupation: Health and Allied HealthSalary Range: $82,331 - $92,456Koori Social & Emotional Wellbeing Officer (Mental Health)• Hub of medical precinct in Parkville, Melbourne• Friendly and supportive team environment• Fixed term until 10th December 2024About the RoleThis is a Fixed Term Full Time position to cover Annual leave until 10th December 2024, at 80 hours per fortnight within the Mental Health Department.You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of Mental Health services to Aboriginal children, young people and their families who are engaged with the RCH Mental Health service in the community across the north-western metropolitan Melbourne region.What you'll achieve:• Purposefully and expertly engage with Aboriginal children, young people and their families in recovery-focused and culturally-sensitive care.• Provide a high standard of culturally-specific support and advocacy services to Aboriginal children, young people and their families who are engaging with the RCH MH service.• Work with supervisors and key stakeholders to evaluate and amend the KSEWO Model of Care against the findings of review processes.Classification for this position will range from YA50 - YA54 classification codes (base salary $82,331 to $92,456 per annum, plus superannuation)Your skills and experience:• This is an Aboriginal identified role (as per s12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic)• Ability to connect with local Aboriginal communities and families including a sound knowledge of Aboriginal culture, values and history.• Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal children, young people and/or families experiencing poor mental health and wellbeing.If this sounds like you, click here to view the position description.About the Mental Health DepartmentThe RCH Mental Health Department comprises of hospital and community-based services for children and young people aged 0-18 years.
