As a confident leader, you will oversee the operational delivery of The Office of the Victims' Commissioner (OVC) work and the implementation of the Commissioner's vision: that "victims are seen and heard in a justice system that anticipates and meets their needs."
This role is a rare opportunity to shape policy and support community engagement to improve the experiences of those impacted by crime.
The Office of the Victims' Commissioner (OVC) is a statutory body established under the Victims' Commissioner and Sexual Violence Review Board Act 2024 to champion the rights and dignity of victims of crime in Queensland.
Working independently, the Victims' Commissioner focuses on advocacy, systemic review, and promoting justice reforms to create a responsive and accessible justice system.
This executive leadership role requires strategic vision, empathy, and a deep commitment to justice. Located centrally in Brisbane, the Executive Director will work directly with the Commissioner, while overseeing a team of directors and managers.
*Note: The Office of the Victims' Commissioner is now supported by the Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support.
