This role is designed to support the Merchandise Manager across all aspects of the denim buyership and will be responsible for understanding the brand target market and assisting with the design and selection of commercial product consistent with seasonal trends and brand direction.ResponsibilitiesPartner with the buying team to build and execute seasonal ranges from the ground upManage the garment development process, including appropriate selection of fabric, trims, block colours and printsDevelop buying plans which engage our customerBenchmark our competitors in order to continually inspect and optimise our product rangeResearch trends, product innovation & competitorsNegotiate with the supply base to deliver value for money, quality products that achieve product margin targetsLiaise with our direct suppliers across a number of countries and manage the critical path and production planAchieve budgeted sales and margin through continuous review of performance, market opportunities and product trendsConstantly review performance and future range inspirations to proactively drive the brand's competitive edgeSkills & ExperienceProven buying and product development experiencePrevious denim experience is advantageousDemonstrated experience in managing production and the critical pathExperience liaising with direct vendors across multiple geographiesCommercial acumen and strong negotiation skillsConfident in understanding budgets and margin calculationsAdaptable approach with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentAbility to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersAdobe Illustrator proficiency is advantageousThis is a fantastic opportunity to join our established and highly successful team.
