Join Seven Network as our new Journalist in Canberra! The Opportunity: Are you passionate about uncovering stories and delivering news that matters? We are seeking a motivated Journalist to join our dynamic News Team in Canberra.
Reporting to the Canberra Editor, you will be responsible for gathering, editing and presenting compelling local news stories in a composed, accurate and engaging manner.
This role requires roster flexibility, and a willingness to work extra hours when the news day demands.
Other key responsibilities include: Developing and maintaining positive relationships with key people and organisations.
Breaking stories and creating engaging content.
Representing the Company in a professional and courteous manner.
About you: You'll be a driven and energetic Journalist, with the ability to think clearly and act quickly under pressure, possessing excellent communication skills to collaborate with different stakeholders internally, as well as externally with the local community.
You'll be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on tight deadlines.
You will have: A solid understanding of media law and ethics.
Competency in script writing in TV News format.
Meticulous attention to detail with some experience in a newsroom.
