We are seeking multiple Investigators across our Fair Work Ombudsman office locations.
Full-time and part-time hours are available.
Operational needs will often require you to work part of the week in your local office with flexibility requests considered on a case by case basis.

About the Team The Large Corporate Investigations team is part of the Operations Group and is responsible for undertaking targeted compliance and assurance monitoring and complex investigations leading to appropriate compliance and enforcement outcomes in matters involving large corporate entities.
We embrace diverse experience, a forensic mindset and people who are data savvy and enjoy working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including legal providers and other vendors.
Typical Duties The duties of this role include, however, are not limited to:
Undertake compliance and investigative activities within a team and project framework.Contribute to investigation planning and inquiries, and analysing large amounts of documents and information.Work with a team of experts in various disciplines and external providers to deliver strategically aligned and efficient compliance and enforcement outcomes.Distil complex information to succinctly articulate issues and recommendations.Prepare project plans, briefs and reports.Under supervision, exercise compliance powers, including the use of coercive powers under the Fair Work Act.Your workload should be generally manageable within your standard hours; however, on occasion you may be required to work or be contactable outside of your regular working hours.
What we are looking for? We are looking for Investigators at the APS 5 or 6 level to undertake the day-to-day conduct of large and complex investigations into potential non-compliance and assurance processes involving large corporate entities.
This position suits people with an analytical and inquisitive mindset and high-level problem-solving skills.
The ideal candidate will have:
Tertiary qualifications in law, workplace relations, and/or investigations; and/orExperience conducting or responding to large or complex regulatory investigations; and/orProfessional services experience in areas such as payroll compliance, wage remediation programs and/or workplace relations compliance.Knowledge and/or professional experience in the Fair Work Act and the Australian workplace relations system is desirable.
Selection Criteria To be successful in one of these roles you require:
