for Space will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing international strategies and partnerships within the rapidly evolving domain of space exploration, research, and utilization. This position requires a visionary leader with deep knowledge of global political landscapes, international space treaties, and technological advancements, who can foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders on a global scale.Our Client, Space Centre Australia (SCA) is Australia's first large-scale, multi-use spaceport. As result of SCA's commitment to advancing the Australian and International space industries, SCA are designed with a strong focus on collaboration. Space Centre Australia is located 43km from the township of Weipa in Northern Queensland, Australia. When it comes to launch operations, there are several factors that contribute to location suitability.For this reason, Space Centre Australia is situated away from competing air corridors in a no-population-density area, therefore promoting public safety, while allowing clear access to a range of orbital positions. Yes – Domestic and InternationalRESPONSIBILITIESGlobal Partnership Development:Identify, establish, and nurture relationships with international space agencies, governments, organizations, and private entities to foster collaboration and mutual benefit.Negotiate and manage bilateral and multilateral agreements, treaties, and partnerships that support cooperative space exploration, technology development, and space-related activities.Policy and Diplomacy:Monitor and analyze global space policies, regulations, and developments, and assess their impact on the organization's objectives.Advocate for favorable regulatory frameworks that promote peaceful, sustainable, and equitable use of outer space resources.Engage in diplomatic efforts to address disputes, conflicts, and compliance issues related to space activities.Develop a comprehensive international strategy that aligns with the organization's goals, identifying potential areas of collaboration, competitive advantages, and risk mitigation strategies.Stay informed about emerging trends and breakthroughs in space technology, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of innovation.Cross-functional Collaboration:Collaborate closely with internal teams including engineering, legal, communications, and research to ensure alignment and synergy in international initiatives.Provide guidance on how international considerations impact technical decisions and vice versa.Public Relations and Communication:Serve as a spokesperson for the organization's international efforts, articulating its vision, mission, and achievements to diverse audiences including governments, media, and the public.Cultivate a positive public image for the organization through effective communication of its contributions to global space cooperation.Identify potential geopolitical, legal, and operational risks associated with international partnerships and activities, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.Capacity Building:Contribute to knowledge sharing and capacity-building initiatives that support the development of space capabilities in less advanced countries, promoting international cooperation and peaceful uses of outer space.QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCEAbility to obtain US Top Secret Security Clearance.Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in International Relations, Political Science, Space Policy, Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 10 years of experience in international relations, diplomacy, or space-related fields, with a proven track record of successfully developing and managing international partnerships.In-depth understanding of international space treaties, regulations, and policies, as well as global geopolitical dynamics.Excellent negotiation, communication, and diplomatic skills.Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse complex geopolitical and technological trends and translate them into actionable strategies.Strong leadership skills to effectively lead cross-functional teams and foster collaboration.Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus, given the international nature of the role.Demonstrated passion for space exploration and a commitment to promoting peaceful and sustainable uses of outer space.Employment OfferOpportunity to work with a growing company in the global Space IndustrySalary $negotiable depending on experienceWe are looking for someone to start immediately.Become a key player in the future of space exploration.
