As a Heavy Pump Fitter, you will be responsible for undertaking the following:
Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines while performing tasks on water services equipment, identifying and mitigating potential safety hazards within the work environment.Diagnose and execute repairs on engines for Sykes & Tru Flow water transfer systems, including trailer-mounted and skid pumps.Install key engine components such as water pumps, fuel pumps, radiators, turbochargers, injectors, and fuel lines; perform valve adjustments, replace rocker cover gaskets, and rear main seals.Collaborate with team members to address engine-related issues efficiently and effectively.Diagnose and resolve faults in wet ends of pumps, ensuring operational efficiency; disassemble pumps, replace mechanical seals, and remove/replace faulty wet ends using forklifts and gantry cranes.Set up and maintain wet end tolerances accurately; install, align, and ensure proper coupling between pumps and engines.Troubleshoot and repair faults within pump control systems; identify issues with sensors (coolant temperature, speed, oil pressure, volute temperature, flow switches), diagnose wiring harness faults, and operate pumps through controllers such as Sykes S35 & S37, ComAp, and Tru Flow systems.Commission repaired pumps to confirm proper functionality, verify alignment and coupling, and ensure operational engine protections (low flow, high temperature, oil pressure, and coolant temperature).Maintain and repair generators, including FG Wilson, Western Diesel, and PR Power models; replace essential components such as fuel pumps, water pumps, coolant sensors, radiators, alternators, belts, and mechanical lift pumps.Conduct load testing to validate the functionality and reliability of repaired equipment.
