The Role At ALS, our safety team is passionate about providing practical guidance, technical advice and tailored support, and we partner with our site leadership team to achieve workable outcomes for our employees and the business.
We need a passionate, driven and organised HSE Advisor to be vital to achieving our most important core principle – We are Safe .
Working Monday to Friday, this is a full-time permanent position based in Springvale for our Environmental Laboratory.
We seek a hands-on workplace health and safety enthusiast to drive our safety culture.
Reporting to the National Manager, this role will allow you to make a real difference.
You must be prepared to roll up your sleeves and get involved but be equally comfortable working with and influencing senior management.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in implementing and managing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs.
Your responsibilities include: Conducting HSE inspections Investigating incidents Developing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences Organizing and delivering HSE training to staff Managing risk assessments Fostering a positive safety culture within the organization The Essentials Essential skills for this position include: Formal qualifications (Cert IV) and previous HSE experience Strong verbal and written communication skills Organised, level-headed and have a common-sense approach Experience in incident investigations, risk assessments and auditing Good verbal and written communications skills Confidence in your knowledge and ability, which helps you quickly build rapport and trust at all levels A good working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and standards Passion, enthusiasm and goal-driven Working at ALS Our people drive our success at ALS.
