Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and inspirational Head of Music to lead their Music Department. This is a pivotal leadership role within the school, ideal for a candidate who is passionate about music education and fostering a love for the arts within a faith-based context. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the music curriculum, managing departmental staff, and ensuring the continued excellence and growth of our music program.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that engages students from Prep to Year 12 and aligns with the school's values and educational goals.Lead, mentor, and support departmental staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.Organize and direct school musical events, productions, and performances, showcasing the talents of our students and the vibrancy of our music program.Collaborate with other academic departments to integrate music into the broader educational experience of our students.Manage departmental resources, including budgets, instruments, and facilities, ensuring they are utilized effectively to enhance the music education program.Engage with the broader community, including parents, alumni, and external organizations, to build partnerships that enrich our music program.
Qualifications and Experience: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field.Valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.Demonstrated experience in music education and leadership, preferably within a school setting.A strong personal commitment to the Catholic faith and the ability to integrate this into the educational and music program.Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.The ability to inspire and motivate students and staff to achieve their best.Legal working rights in Australia.
