FULL-TIME | SALARY RANGE– $149,510.90 P.A. Catholic Education has a network of 18 Catholic schools in the Northern Territory - five colleges, seven primary schools, one flexible learning centre and five remote schools.
The Role: The Head of Integrity and Safeguarding is accountable to the Director of Catholic Education NT and will lead the ongoing development and improvement of a Child Safe culture and safeguarding outcomes for Catholic schools ELC's and OSHC's in the Northern Territory. As Head of Safeguarding you will be required to provide timely advice and support to the Director. You will be responsible for implementing strategies and ensuring integrity and professional standards policies are developed and maintained in a contemporary manner.
Key Responsibilities: This is achieved through: Implementing and embedding for CENT the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards as developed by the Australian Catholic Safeguarding Standards Limited (The Standards).Lead the ongoing development, implementation, realisation and evaluation of integrity and safeguarding outcomes, including audits and investigations, based on The Standards.Develop partnerships with school communities, the Diocese of Darwin, parishes and other Catholic entities to support the adoption and integration of The Standards and the Child and Youth Risk Management Strategies as part of a proactive safeguarding culture.Provide regular reporting of compliance with The Standards to the Director of Catholic Education and Dioscean Office and provide input to the Bishop's Consultative Panel on the implementation of The Standards.Oversee and manage compliance with relevant safeguarding legislation, registration standards, policies and procedures, informed by professional practice and the audit processes.Monitoring of all safeguarding screening practices and implementing policies and procedures to ensure all workers (including volunteers) have current and valid NT registrations and permissions.Full details are outlined in the position description.WHAT WE OFFER: 5 weeks Annual Leave plus 3 days additional leave during ChristmasRelocation Assistance.Excellent Work Life Balance – Working hours are from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PMFunded Professional DevelopmentEmployee Assistance ProgramThis position involves working with children.
