We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate individual to lead and oversee our female cricket program as Head of Female Cricket. The key responsibility of this position will be to integrate the different parts of female cricket performance - Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, State, Premier, National & State Youth Pathway - ensuring each work together to create a player-focused program that grows the female game in this State. In conjunction with the General Manager of Cricket Performance (GMCP) and CV Cricket department, the role is ultimately responsible for delivering the next phase in female high-performance development by fostering the State female cricket network to achieve sustainable success.
Key Responsibilities include: In consultation with the GMCP, provide direction and leadership to the Elite Female cricket program.Drive active participation in CV's performance and development process for Cricket Performance (CP) employees in the female program.Work collaboratively with all Cricket Victoria, Cricket Australia and Australian Cricket stakeholders.Drive collaboration between CV and its stakeholders to deliver high-quality coaching, training, and playing preparation for Victoria and its WBBL clubs, so that our identified female players are developed to their full potential as quickly and efficiently as possible.Ensure Victorian female playing squads meet expected standards of performance and behaviours on and off the field.Oversee the integration of both female State Pathway and Elite programs to ensure they work together to deliver a High Performance (HP) cricket program that provides greater depth of talent feeding into its State HP system.In conjunction with the female Player Development Manager (PDM), oversee the development and delivery of an individual player and personal development plan for each female squad member.Work closely with the Talent Development Manager – Female and Talent Development Specialist – Female, to create development plans to help fast track future female talent identified from our emerging pathway programs and ensure that identified female pathway program coaches are provided with the best personal development support.In conjunction with CV and CA Cricket Performance staff, support the identification, coordination, and delivery of national development programs.Oversee Talent ID and Selection Processes to view players in all domestic competitions (female) and provide documentation and reporting for the National Selection and Youth Selection Panels.Ensure all talented female athletes are tested in line with national protocols (as provided by Cricket Australia) and this information is reported to national selectors through the Athlete Management System (AMS).Liaise with Premier clubs, and in particular the coaches, on matters relevant to State selection and their club.Qualifications & Experience: Tertiary qualification/s in a relevant degree such as Business, Sport Management desirable.Proven experience at an elite level of sports high performance either as an athlete, coach, or administrator.Extensive understanding and experience of how elite high performance programs function.Experience in developing and/or executing operational and strategic plans.Strong cricket background desirable but not essential.A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) (or arranged on appointment).Level 1 First Aid & CPR (or arranged on appointment).Valid Victorian Driver's License.About you: The successful candidate will have a genuine desire to lead and support our female cricket program to achieve their full potential on and off the field. They will have a strong ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with a diverse group of players, coaches, and stakeholders, and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. They will be confident in proactively identifying opportunities to improve the female program and have extensive knowledge of the cricket landscape to deliver on and off-field excellence within our female program.
