This includes managing change, developing teacher capacity, and enhancing the interest and capability from Years 7 to 12.Key responsibilities include:Lead the development and implementation of an academic curriculum for your subject area that is data driven, innovative and complies with external requirements and the College's Islamic ethosProvide professional leadership, mentoring and support to all staff of the Department so that they are able to collaborate effectively in the detailed planning of Units and the setting of assessments, as well as implementing best-practice pedagogies and effective behaviour management practices across all year levels they teachOversight the assessment and reporting processes each semester and perform a quality assurance function across all Reports prepared by staff of the Department across all year levelsGuide and support the professional development of teachers within the Department to improve the capability of the teaching workforce as a whole, including ICT skills, so that outcomes for students are maximisedContribute to the selection of new staff for the Department and provide for their effective onboarding, as well as monitoring their progress throughout the year through conducting regular observations of their teaching practice.Keys Skills, Experience and Qualifications:Degree qualifications in teaching with at least 5 years relevant experienceHold a deep knowledge of the subject matter curriculum and concepts in your subject area(s) across Years 7 to 12Demonstrated practical experience in effective planning, implementing curriculum innovations, establishing inclusive and effective teaching and learning frameworks and processes, and participating/fostering changeDemonstrated ability to guide and support staff in becoming the best teachers they can beCapacity to maintain accurate and complete records and effective administration and organisation of activities related to the roleDemonstrate a genuine commitment to the College's values, philosophy, and Islamic ethos and to preserve its traditions, while also articulating an appropriate vision for the futureMaintain a good knowledge of developments in the education sector and in your field of studyDemonstrated ability to communicate in an effective and timely manner with staff at all levels, students, and parents, including the ability to effectively achieve outcomes under difficult and/or personally confronting circumstancesMust hold QCT Accreditation as a Teacher in Queensland.About the CollegeThe Islamic College of Brisbane (ICB) is a Prep to Year 12 co-educational, independent growing school, located on the southern outskirts of Brisbane in the suburb of Karawatha located in the South East Queensland region.
