We are seeking an experienced Senior Exploration Geologist with WA Gold mining experience to join our client on the next phase of their growth journey.
This pivotal role requires a highly motivated individual with a passion for geology exploration and a deep understanding of the WA Gold mining industry.
As a Senior Geologist, you will lead and manage exploration initiatives, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to identify and evaluate new gold exploration opportunities.
Your expertise will be crucial in designing and implementing exploration programs, overseeing fieldwork, and analysing geological data to make informed decisions that drive projects forward.
The role is Perth based with site work as and when required.
Responsibilities Lead and manage gold exploration projects from initial planning to completion.
Design and implement exploration programs, including drilling campaigns and geological mapping.
Conduct detailed geological assessments and data analysis to identify potential gold deposits.
Collaborate with geophysicists and geochemists to integrate various data sources for exploration.
Prepare technical reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.
Mentor and train junior geologists and field staff on best practices and methodologies.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during exploration activities.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Geology or related field Minimum 8 years of experience in gold exploration geology Proficiency in geological software and data analysis tools, such as GIS and 3D modeling software.
Strong knowledge of ore deposit models and gold mineralisation processes.
Experience with drilling techniques, sampling protocols, and resource estimation.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex geological concepts to non-specialists.
Willingness to travel to remote exploration sites and work in challenging environments.
