As our highly valued Tax Accountant based in Brisbane, your role will contribute to the ongoing compliance with our regulatory and tax risk management framework. You will contribute to ongoing enhancement activities and continuous improvement initiatives relating to the finance function. The Finance Team is responsible for delivering financial reporting, tax, operational accounting, treasury back office and middle office and systems accounting functions for the Great Southern Bank group. The team is accountable for ensuring the delivery, optimisation and continuous improvement of the finance function.
You'll make an impact by:
Corporate tax compliance tasks, including income tax, fringe benefits tax and GST reporting Supporting the Tax Manager with managing investor tax requirements, including FATCA/CRS, Annual Income Investment Reporting and Quarterly Tax File Number Reporting. Minimise the extent of Transaction Tax risks in line with Great Southern Bank's Risk Management Framework including active engagement with operational areas and structured Transaction Tax compliance monitoring and control testing
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Minimum 3 years' experience working in a tax or accounting role, holding a tax position within a medium to large, chartered accountant firm or large commercial organisation. Knowledge of and/or exposure to corporate tax reporting requirements including tax effect accounting, income tax, fringe benefits tax and GST CA/CPA qualified (or near) Commerce / Business degree with a major in Accounting.
