The Role: As a Groundsman, you will play a key role in maintaining the grounds of an important government site. You will be responsible for ensuring that the outdoor areas are well-kept, safe, and aesthetically pleasing, while also meeting all safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities: Perform general maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and weeding. Maintain lawns, garden beds, trees, and other landscape elements. Assist with pest and weed control, irrigation management, and mulching. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and site standards. Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment. Report any hazards or issues to the Facilities Manager. Skills and Experience: Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or similar roles. Knowledge of horticulture and landscape management is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills to liaise with team members and site stakeholders. Ability to operate gardening tools and machinery safely and efficiently. Requirements: Australian Citizenship (due to security clearance requirements). Ability to pass pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening. Valid driver's license.
