Hume Anglican Grammar is a multi-campus co-educational Anglican Diocesan School offering education from Prep to Year 12 in the Northern growth corridor of Melbourne. Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager The Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager manages the day-to-day operations of risk mitigation, strategic risk management and policy and procedures development, ensuring that Hume Anglican Grammar is in a position to meet its compliance and assurance obligations as determined by all relevant external organisations today and into the future.
The role will operate under six major areas:
• Governance
• Strategic Risk Management
• Operational Risk Mitigation
• Compliance and Policy
• Occupational health and safety (OHS)
• Risk and Compliance and Training
From a Governance perspective, they have the significant responsibility for providing high-level administrative, organisational and secretarial support to the Board of Directors and Business Manager, in their role as Company Secretary, to ensure the smooth running of all Board related matters.
The Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager has overall responsibility for the organisation of all Board matters and works closely with the Principal and Executive Assistant to the Business Manager. They act as an efficient and effective conduit between the Business Manager and the Board of Directors. They support the Business Manager in his/her capacity as Company Secretary, and are the Minute Secretary at Board and Committee meetings.
They are required to attend all Board and Committee meetings and ensure all routine Board matters are handled smoothly. It is expected they exhibit a high level of personal judgement and make decisions on routine matters on behalf of the Business Manager in his/her capacity as Company Secretary.
This role is largely based at our Mt Ridley campus in Mickleham, and currently manages one direct report. Due to the nature of the role, work flexibility with regards to time and location is critical. A number of duties will need to be performed at times other than during the hours of a typical working day, including after hours in the evenings, however it may also be appropriate for a number of duties, such as minutes of Governance meetings, be carried out at home.
