About The RoleAre you passionate about using geospatial technology to make a meaningful impact on environmental projects? We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and motivated GIS Specialist to play a crucial role in collecting and analysing environmental data for exciting mining closure projects.Key CriteriaAs the successful candidate for the role of GIS Specialist, you will meet the following criteria: Facilitate and oversee the collection, recording, and analysis of environmental data for both internal and external reporting. Support daily data management activities related to project closure and rehabilitation, general environmental management, including spreadsheet and database maintenance, data analysis, and general knowledge management and administrative tasks. Manage GIS data files and create maps to support reporting and stakeholder engagement. Collaborate with various internal stakeholders to meet data and evidence requirements to support project outcomes. Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field. Experience in environmental data management and preparing technical reports. Understanding of various environmental disciplines such as ecology, hydrogeology, hydrology, soil science, and cultural heritage is advantageous. Proficiency in using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to produce maps and drawings. Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn and develop technical skills relevant to project closure.What's on Offer?
