General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management) Full time $130K – $150K + super + private use of vehicle The Wellington Park Management Trust is the statutory management authority for Wellington Park in southern Tasmania. Wellington Park is an 18,011 ha reserve bordering Greater Hobart, and includes the iconic kunanyi / Mount Wellington, Tasmania's most-visited natural attraction.The Trust is responsible for preserving or protecting the natural and cultural values of Wellington Park, consistent with the Wellington Park Act 1993. Park administration is complex, comprising 14 different land tenures and multiple land owners and managers. Led by an independent Chair, the Trust consists of nominees of the City of Hobart, Glenorchy City Council, Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service, the Dept of Natural Resources and Environment, TasWater and Tourism Tasmania.The Trust has a role in strategic planning and compliance with the Wellington Park Regulations 2019. Park management operations and on-ground activity are undertaken by Trust member agencies.Reporting to the Chair, you will guide the Trust in a period of transformation and renewal. With the statutory Wellington Park Management Plan under review, and ongoing investigation of alternative management frameworks to deliver better outcomes for Wellington Park, this role will require significant stakeholder consultation and engagement, timely delivery of statutory functions and provision of efficient executive services to the Trust. You will be supported by a small, collaborative team of three technical staff.Applications are encouraged from a range of disciplines, although skills or experience in parks and reserves management, statutory land use planning and/or stakeholder engagement will be advantageous. Your experience in similar leadership positions, with a focus on strategic planning, program delivery and an ability to influence and align stakeholders will be highly regarded.
