As General Manager Community and Regulatory Services you will provide leadership and direction across a range of Departmental services including Leisure, Regulatory Services, Community and Youth Development, Arts and Cultural Development and Safer Cities. As part of the Strategic Directions Group you will make a real difference in the lives of people residing and working in the municipality. As primary advisor to the CEO and elected members on community and regulatory services matters, your key responsibilities will include delivering community and regulatory services in a way that promotes access and inclusion to those services by all members of our community. Importantly, you will realise reconciliation outcomes between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within the City of Darwin and the community. This role will appeal to a values-driven leader with highly developed stakeholder management skills; and a proven ability to deliver effective and high-quality advice with an understanding of the economic, social and governance issues in a comparable legislative environment. The successful, appropriately qualified candidate will have a record in achieving significant social and cultural outcomes through the delivery of community services; and experience in navigating change within a nuanced political environment. This role requires a strategically minded and commercially astute individual with the ability to engage and develop the talents of the multi-disciplinary team to achieve key objectives.
