Base Salary from $70,329 + 17% superannuation

The University's grounds are known for their local heritage and natural beauty.
We have an excellent Open Spaces team who manage the maintenance, repair and replacement of the University's landscape.
We have an opportunity for an experienced
Gardener
to join the team and support this outstanding work.
You will perform tasks associated with the maintenance and development of the University grounds, ensuring that they are maintained to a high-quality standard in a timely, cost-effective manner to meet the needs of our students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage maintenance of the university grounds and campus sites.
Oversight of any trades/contractors &/or Open Spaces contractors.
Assist in ensuring property, plant & WHS elements are maintained in pristine condition.
About you

Gardener
who can demonstrate: Certificate III Horticulture or equivalent (required).
C class drivers' licence and ability to drive a manual vehicle (essential).
Demonstrated experience in horticulture such as garden, turf or landscape maintenance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, in various locations.
Sound knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite of Applications.

For a continuing position, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident.
Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
Your employment is conditional upon the completion of all role required pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the University.
Similarly, your ongoing employment is conditional upon the satisfactory maintenance of all relevant clearances and background check requirements.
If you do not meet these conditions, the University may take any necessary step, including the termination of your employment.
