Experienced Front of House Member Required Job Description Front of House Member needed in our family run Village Pub situated in the stunning village of Castleton just outside of Sheffield in the heart of Derbyshire.
The hours for the job will be 40 to 48 hours per week on a rota basis of 5 days out of 7 with varied days off.
Applicants would benefit from a friendly, outgoing personality and being able to work as part of a team and also using their own initiative once training has been given.
Evenings, weekdays and weekend shifts form part of this role, but varied on a rota basis, so not necessarily every weekend due to the ever changing rota.
Due to the location and times of buses your own transport would be an advantage.
Job is open for an immediate start for the right applicant.
Wage is depending on experience gained in a similar role.
Working duties will include all of the following: Organizing other Team members while on shift to maximize the customers served. Arrange Rotas for the Front of House Staff. Deal with Shift coverage for sickness & Holidays. Help with Managing of Social Media platforms to promote the business. Dealing with day to day emails and bookings for tables / rooms. Assist with the Ordering of stock to good levels from suppliers. Taking food and drink orders making sure that the orders are clearly and correctly entered into the till so the kitchen can fulfill their duties effectively. Check ordered meals on collection from the kitchen and deliver to guests promptly. Liaising with the Chef to type up / complete the specials boards for the day. Taking bookings for our accommodation and tables - Understanding the menu and learning product knowledge which will also be taught to you if needed. Stock rotation on the bar. Cash handling (operating till system) - Cashing up duties at the end of the day and locking the pub up at night once training has been given if needed. Maintain hygienic food service techniques during service. Comply with safe working practices. Also, any other duties required to meet the needs of the business. We are a family run pub keeping community at the heart of our ethos. We have a substantial Kitchen Garden where we grow produce for the specials board helping with sustainability, where we have recently won awards for this. We are looking for the right candidate to help us continue with our Sustainability Projects and push to achieve more National Awards which vary.
The right candidate must be able to focus on the path of sustainability set and help with new ideas to achieve more success for themselves and the business.

Some of the Projects we already do at The George include: Kitchen Garden with Polytunnel, Greenhouses & 35 Raised Beds to grow our own produce. Timer Plugs around the building to save Electricity. Solar power to Heat the Polytunnels & Greenhouses on the Allotment. Recycle Wine bottles in a kiln to use as serving dishes for food & Tips Trays. Make Chutneys, Jams, Flavoured Gins & pickles from Kitchen Garden produce. Encourage Local growers to swap with our produce to avoid wastage. Sensor Lights and smart plug saving technology throughout the pub. Beehives for Staff to also get involved with as well should they wish to! The Role on offer is very much a hands-on role while supervising a friendly hardworking team of staff when the owners or Manager Jess are away from the premises.
