Help shape the future as a Financial Risk Manager Join the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand.
Your Role As a Financial Risk Manager at IAG, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the oversight responsibilities of the Financial Risk & Model Risk team in Group Risk.
Your primary responsibility is to provide expert advice and recommendations to senior management within Group Risk concerning non-insurance financial risks - capital, market, credit, and liquidity risks.
Your duties will include reviewing and challenging key financial risk documents and committee papers, such as ICAAP, Recovery Plan, and Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA). You'll keep the EGM, Enterprise Risk informed of any issues or key insights and escalate these to the Risk Leadership team as needed. Additionally, you'll develop an enhanced oversight process to capture, analyse, and report on financial risk data, produce financial risk updates for the CRO report for GLT Risk and the Board Risk Committee and manage stakeholder relationships by building strong connections with the Group Risk and Finance teams.
You'll also contribute to the preparation of papers for the Risk Executive Leadership Team as required, and from time to time you may also support the team with oversight of Model Risk across IAG.
This is a fixed term full-time role until November 2025, offering you the flexibility to be based anywhere in Australia.
About You To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
Significant demonstrated experience in an actuarial, product & pricing, corporate finance or financial role, preferably within a General Insurance environment.Specialist knowledge in both or at least one financial risk area of capital or investments.The ability to liaise broadly with colleagues from differing parts of the organisation.An ability to work independently, learn quickly, manage projects and influence outcomes.Tertiary qualification/s in actuarial studies, statistics, mathematics, or related business/finance fields.Applications close Monday, 20 Jan 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
