This role will support the Group Financial Reporting Lead on all facets of financial reporting.Your responsibilities will include:Provide advice on accounting matters, including implementation of new accounting standardsPreparation of technical accounting position papersPreparation of annual and half-year statutory consolidated financial statementsPreparation of submissions for the Audit, Governance and Risk Management CommitteePreparation and/or review of complex and specialised accounting entries, including derivative financial instrumentsWork closing with external auditors and assist in the coordination of audits and reviewsDevelopment and implementation of financial accounting policies and procedures and provision of support to the finance teams to ensure application of and the improvement in the timeliness and quality of financial reportingMonitoring, researching and interpreting new accounting and reporting requirements and assessing and documenting the impact on the Group's financial statementsAbout you:To be successful in this role you will have:Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or CommerceCPA or CA qualificationsMinimum 5 years work experience, preferrable big four public accounting experience with large public clients and/or ASX reporting exposureSubstantial technical accounting knowledge and understanding of relevant accounting standards and principlesExtensive analytical capability, problem solving ability and attention todetailCustomer service focus, committed to value added process improvementEffective and persuasive verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work as an effective member of a team and build relationships for resultsWhat we offer you:At Aurizon, we support the development and growth of our employees.
