About the Opportunity Bloodwood Tree is seeking a full-time Financial Capability Advisor based in Port Hedland, WA.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive financial literacy services to individuals and families in the community. You will play a key role in building clients' financial capabilities, providing support with budgeting, money management, and helping them avoid financial crises.
More specifically, your responsibilities include:
Providing and operating an effective Financial Capability service to community clients Assisting individuals and families in improving self-reliance by enhancing financial literacy and money management capacity Developing and delivering non-accredited financial literacy education workshops to local groups and one-on-one budgeting support to individuals Supporting families at risk of homelessness by guiding them in managing household finances and preventing accommodation crises Helping clients resolve or avoid financial difficulties, and strengthening their capacity to manage their resources Managing client assessments, maintaining accurate client records, and coordinating referral services Providing timely, accurate reporting in line with service contracts We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples , as well as individuals from diverse backgrounds.
About You To be successful in this role, you will need:
A Working with Children's Check (or willing to obtain one) A current 'C' class driver's license Experience in financial counseling or community services, with a focus on improving financial literacy Strong communication skills, with the ability to conduct one-on-one support sessions and facilitate group workshops In addition, the following qualifications and skills will be highly regarded:
Experience working with families at risk of homelessness Strong organisational skills for managing client files and reports As the ideal candidate, you will be empathetic, adaptable, and passionate about helping individuals and families improve their financial wellbeing.
