As a Finance Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting RSPCA South Australia's compliance with financial legislation, while helping to maintain accurate and timely financial records. Your contributions will directly support our mission and ensure we continue to operate smoothly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities Prepare, enter, and reconcile accounts payable/receivable, credit cards, and bank accounts in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with BAS requirements.Manage bi-weekly payroll, with a strong understanding of Award conditions (Long Service Leave, Workers Compensation, Superannuation, and Taxation) and respond to payroll inquiries.Coordinate insurance claims and manage bequests, including liaising with legal practitioners and ensuring accurate reporting to the Board.Provide timely and accurate financial information to business units, helping them meet their KPIs.Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies and anomalies, escalating issues as necessary.About You To thrive in this role, you'll bring:
3+ years in finance, accounting, or a similar role, with strong knowledge of Award interpretation and South Australian legislative requirements (including Long Service Leave, Workers Compensation, Superannuation, and Taxation).Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and demonstrated experience in payroll processing and financial reporting.You pride yourself on accuracy, spotting errors, and resolving them swiftly.Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to collaborate across teams and explain complex information clearly.You handle pressure well and are able to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.Qualifications: A qualification in finance, commerce, or accounting is desirable.Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector is advantageous.Why RSPCA South Australia?
