Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy. 
Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.
Job Summary: As Field Purchasing / Expediting Specialist, you will perform project or site expediting activities.
You will contact suppliers, interpret production schedules and progress reports, prepare critical items reports, provide early warning of delays or supplier deficiencies, monitor supplier quality, and assist with tracing missing material. Your initiative and corrective actions will help ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Major Responsibilities: Prepares bidder pre-qualifications, bidder lists, negotiation plans, bid solicitations, bid analysis, award recommendations and commitments, including aspects of purchase order administration. Contacts suppliers to obtain timely submission of engineering data, and to follow-up on material acquisition production progress and shipment. Understands and executes work in accordance with the project sourcing strategy, compliance to the Project's Approved Vendors List, project financing considerations, and respective tariff and quota risk. Accountable to ensure appropriate approval authorities are obtained prior to executing commitments. Responsible for assigned orders from development through closure, to include engagement with other disciplines on purchase requisition development, the acquisition and delivery of purchases, and order closeout; to include supporting management of backcharges and claims. Performs more complex purchasing and expediting activities on a project, in a support office, or at a jobsite to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment to meet project needs.  Contacts suppliers to obtain timely submission of engineering data and to follow-up on material acquisition, production progress and shipment. Other responsibilities as designated. Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge and Skills: Ability to maintain supplier relationships with supplier's project personnel executing orders to ensure performance of the work. Ability to work with engineering, construction and the other procurement team members. Proficiency in negotiating terms and conditions with suppliers. Understanding of EPC procurement activities. Understand how to support project schedule Good oral and written communication skills regarding technical and production matters with both project and supplier personnel. Demonstrated knowledge of the legal and commercial aspects of global procurement of equipment and materials. #LI-JC1

Additional Information: This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).
The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site
