Job DescriptionHealth & wellbeing programs, hybrid, and flexible workingCollaborative culture with a genuine commitment to sustainability and communityLearn and Grow OpportunitiesAn opportunity exists for a proactive and experienced accountant to join our Expense Management team, within the Hanes Finance team, as the Expense Accounting Lead. As part of the Expense Management team, this role will report into the Group Reporting Manager and manage a team of 3 Expense Accountants. You will need to leverage your accounting skills whilst assuming responsibility for providing high quality financial information to both internal and external stakeholders. Our ideal candidate will be a hands-on team player with strong coaching, organisational skills, a 'can do attitude' with a high level of accountability and proactivity who can manage a team. In addition, the position requires a critical thinking and continuous improvement mindset, with an ability to identify and implement system and process improvements to drive efficiencies within the finance team.
Primary responsibilities include: The accuracy and completeness of designated areas of the P&L and balance sheetOverseeing the timely completion of month-end journalsBalance sheet reconciliationsP&L and balance sheet analysisDirectly supporting forecasting and budgetingLiaising with external auditAd hoc financial analysis as requiredYour day to day responsibilities: Manage team with adherence to month-end accounting and reporting responsibilitiesManagement of accounting for designated areas of the P&L and balance sheetBalance sheet reconciliation preparation and reviewAd-hoc accounting problem solvingExternal & internal audit complianceWhat experience/skills do I have? Experience in an accounting role, within a large corporate environment or within professional practiceA degree in accounting or financeCA or CPA qualifiedAdvanced Stakeholder ManagementExperience in a role with at least one direct reportExcel, advanced levelExperience working with a large accounting system, preferably JD EdwardsAbility to problem solve and analyse complex dataCritical thinking and continuous improvement mindsetWhat's in it for me?
