Executive Sous Chef
to join our successful Flight Catering team at
Perth Airport
on a
full-time
basis.
What does a typical day look like?
You will be assisting the Executive Chef with the overall delivery of the Catering divisions objectives by providing operational direction, support and guidance to a team of Chefs and Catering Attendants.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing daily and weekly planning of food preparation, shift allocation and rostering, ordering and purchasing of produce through our systems, attend business strategy and operational meetings with and in lieu of the Executive Chef, champion safety and adherence to procedures.
In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are:
Be responsible for maintaining and delivering world-class airline food quality standards across all classes.
Oversee department planning and execution activities to ensure budgeted production and financial targets are achieved.
Coordinate labour, resources, materials, and equipment to ensure efficient execution of operational plans within required budget.
Manage all aspects of food catering, including meal presentations, charter catering, menu changes, and audits.
Focus on continuous efficiency and productivity improvement.
Motivate, mentor, and develop the Kitchen team.
Adhere to company HACCP and WHS policies.
Waste management and minimizing cost controls.
Keep all Kitchen staff up to date with required training.
Collaborate with the wider business to align production operations with overall strategy.
What do you need to be successful in securing this role?
Trade qualified with experience min to Sous Chef Level or higher.
Exposure to large or bulk catering facilities in manufacturing or FMCG.
Strong understanding of HACCP / Food Safety / WHS and QA.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent time and interpersonal management skills.
Experience in managing a large cross-functional team.
Previous Airline Catering experience is highly desired but not essential.
