About Redkite: When a child is diagnosed with cancer, it affects the whole family. In the daunting and unpredictable experience that follows diagnosis, a child needs as much stability and support from their family as possible. Redkite is a lifeline for families, providing real emotional, financial and practical support.
The role: The Events Manager is responsible for the effective management, delivery, and execution of the logistics of Redkite's corporate, community-based and donor development events held across Australia in support of children and young adults with cancer and their families.
The goal of this key position is to work with the wider fundraising team and our supporters to drive planning, logistics, efficiencies, and support income generation across all events for Redkite.
The Events Manager reports to the Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager and has no direct reports; however, preparedness to coordinate and allocate tasks for temporary support staff engaged for events is required.
Interstate travel and attendance at weekend and/or evening events is an integral part of this role. Additional hours may be necessary from time to time, for which you will be compensated through Redkite's time in lieu policy.
About you: The position is ideal for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and extensive social work experience. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following skills & experience:
3+ years of events management experience.Tertiary qualifications or experience in events, not-for-profit studies, communications, marketing, or business.Strong project management experience, including use of task allocation and tracking software.Experience managing expenditure to budget limits and reporting expenditure status.Experience in coordinating complex events by collaborating with key stakeholders.Outstanding communication skills - written, interpersonal and negotiation.Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.Teamwork and collaborative thinking, with the ability to also work autonomously.Excellent planning and organising skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines.Ability to work to deadlines and juggle priorities in a busy environment.Willingness to travel and represent Redkite at external events, including travel, evening, and weekend commitments, with a current full driver's licence.Desirable: Not-for-profit fundraising experience specialising in events.Experience in delivering revenue-driven events.Experience with securing sponsorship and in-kind support.Why join us?
