APG Workforce are currently seeking a Maintenance Assistant

to join a local Maintenance Team based in Cobbitty.This role is perfect for a recent school leaver looking to gain experience in maintenance and facility management.
We're seeking a quick learner who enjoys working outdoors and is willing to try various maintenance tasks.
A positive attitude is a must!
We are a small team that values teamwork and a good fit as much as skills.The Role The Maintenance Team Member focuses on building and infrastructure maintenance as directed by the Maintenance Coordinator.Hours

Currently 38 hours over 5 days Full Time 7.30am to 3.30pm

Responsibilities: Providing maintenance solutions for the residents Ensuring day-to-day maintenance is handled safely, efficiently, and economically.
All-round landscaping/grounds maintenance Keep the village landscaping and grounds in good order and presentation.
This role also supports other staff members as needed Display high work ethic and exceptional maintenance skills.
Lead, motivate, and work alongside the team with clear communication.
Liaise effectively with residents and report maintenance trends.
Ensure all equipment and tools are in good working order.
Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
Coordinate with external trades as needed.
Report to the Maintenance Coordinator, prioritizing safety and efficiency.
Identify areas for improvement and promote safety and aesthetics.
Participate in weekly team meetings.
Wear uniforms, safety equipment, and PPE as required.

Skills Required: General maintenance experience and labouring skills and knowledge Experience with use of a variety of general and grounds maintenance products, equipment & machinery Excellent communication skills - particularly verbal and listening.
General labouring and landscaping skills Knowledge of and ability to use all manner of maintenance equipment.
Strong customer focus with a high level of empathy and discretion Excellent time management skills and priority focused Driven to work as part of a highly successful and motivated team.
A mature and focused attitude - flexible and team focused.
Drivers licence

Desirable: Previous trade experience in Retirement Village maintenance role, property management or similar Previous experience in residential grounds maintenance role or similar Trade qualifications in landscaping, greenkeeping or horticulture
