Additionally, the role provides direct support and leadership to all site based operational emergency response in their day-to-day duties and when necessary, including emergency response procedures.This is a Permanent full-time position based at our Kwinana Refinery on a 5:2 roster.Key Responsibilities Active participation in the establishment of a health and safety culture.Undertake all work in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with statutory requirements and Covalent policies & procedures.Comply with all health and safety, environmental and regulatory policies relating to the project and ensure a safe working environment.Ensure all health, safety and environmental incidents are reported.Respond to onsite emergencies.Maintain a state of operational readiness for all ER equipment, including vehicle readiness.Ensure legislative requirements are met in Emergency Response fields.To provide/support leadership and training services for all departments in emergency management practices.Maintain equipment preparedness including compliance inspection, testing and reporting.Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the Covalent's emergency service infrastructure, policies and protocols.Plan, co-ordinate, and participate in site emergency drills.Maintain a level of fitness required to perform the job role as dictated by the company.To undertake other duties consistent with the function and role of the position and comply with all directions from ER & Security lead, Managers and Supervisors.Provide training and instruction to work groups, attend toolbox meetings and deliver information.Provide leadership and technical support in planned work, emergency scenarios as well as incidents where they arise.Develop, review and update the site emergency management plan, systems and procedures, in consultation with relevant stakeholders.Liaise with the Mt Holland ERT team to develop a one Covalent approach to Emergency Services.Role RequirementsCertification III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue (or equivalent - Essential), .Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Highly regarded).Occupational first aid (equivalent or higher).Operate and maintain a 4WD.Construction White Card.Minimum 5 years' experience in remote mine site operations, or MHF experience.A well-developed knowledge of, and experience in the application of Emergency Response Services within the mining sector or equivalent environment.In depth knowledge of current governing Health and Safety acts and regulations.Knowledge of safety programs and recognised safety management systems.Demonstrated capacity to lead & train the ERT.A competitive remuneration package commensurate with the role, candidate experience, skills and qualifications will be offered. Our team members are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work.
