It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio.As we continue to expand our team to ensure success in developing our new infrastructure, we have created new roles to further support our operations.Join us and unearth your potential in a global company that is at the forefront of shaping the future of the mining industry.BenefitsWorking an 8:6 roster, you can FIFO from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin and reside in our fully equipped accommodation village.On offer is an industry competitive remuneration package including annual performance incentives, FIFO allowance, gold level health insurance for employees and their families and employee benefits and development opportunities offered by a global organisation.The OpportunityAs the Electrical Advisor in our Mine Maintenance Fixed Plant department, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating electrical activities within the underground mining operation ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the electrical network.The role focuses on planning, developing and implementing electrical work, ensuring it meets current and future operation requirements.You will collaborate with various departments to maintain electrical equipment, troubleshoot issues and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.Key AccountabilitiesDevelop a comprehensive strategy for extending the underground mine's electrical network to accommodate operational growth and technological advancements. Ensure that all necessary resources, materials, and personnel are available and scheduled appropriately. Serve as a central point of contact for all stakeholders involved in mine electrical work, including maintenance teams, mine schedulers, and management. Facilitate effective communication between different departments to address issues or changes in the outage plan. Collaborate with engineering teams to assess current network capacity and identify areas for expansion. Conduct feasibility studies to assess the technical, financial, and operational aspects of proposed electrical network extensions. Provide recommendations based on the analysis to support decision-making processes. Stay up to date with relevant electrical regulations, codes, and industry standards to ensure that all network extension plans comply with legal and safety requirements. Coordinate with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals for proposed network expansions. Collaborate with project management teams to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for electrical network extension projects. Oversee the execution of projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, regulatory agencies, and mine operators, to communicate plans, address concerns, and gather input for network extension projects. Identify potential risks associated with electrical network extension projects and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to operations. About YouTrade qualified (preferred). Experience in coordinating and managing mining electrical work. Familiar with mining and maintenance processes to effectively plan, execute, and document electrical activities. Ability to coordinate and prioritise tasks, resources and timelines efficiently. Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination with various stakeholders. Proficiency with available software and tools to coordinate future work. Current C Class manual driver's licence.
