The Assistant Director - Engagement leads a small team of communication, engagement and coordination personnel in the ADF Cadets Directorate.
The role is responsible for ensuring high-quality and timely responses to advice and products in support of the three ADF cadet programs.
Quality stakeholder engagement is a fundamental requirement of the role.

Excellent team leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise, collaborate, build and maintain productive relationships within the Division and across Defence.Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines are essential.Being adept at providing strategic advice to senior management and stakeholders as well as leading work that may have strategic, political or reputational significance.Strong leadership management skills with the ability to collaborate, build and maintain productive relationships within the team and Directorate.The ability to professionally represent Defence at official activities, use sound judgement and initiative to respond to issues and to act as Director when needed, including ministerial and executive correspondence, public information requests, and strategic communication.About our Team
The Reserve and Cadet Support Division provides a range of support services including Youth Policy, Programs and Training; Youth Protection and Reporting; ICT Services and Projects; and ADF Reserve Employer Support.
These directorates work together to contribute to Defence people capability.
The ADF Cadets Directorate provides complementary supporting and enabling functions through a collaborative approach between the respective ADF cadet programs administered by Navy, Army and Air Force.
The Directorate seeks to achieve standardisation of governance and engagement support across the three programs, where common and agreed.
