This role is responsible for supporting Domestic and Family Violence victim survivors in a crisis accommodation setting. We are a feminist service dedicated to empowering women and young people, ensuring their right to experience safety.Full time in Parramatta area 9:00 - 5:00 pmDFV, MH or Child Protection experience necessarySCHADS Lev 3 + Generous salary packaging benefits Specialist Homelessness Services of Uniting provide crisis support and case management to families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness due to experiencing Domestic and Family Violence.Role Overview:Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist with intake and assessmentSupporting Case Manager on implementing and follow up on case plansWork in conjunction with the Case Managers as well as independentlyThis also includes performing cleaning responsibilities such as housekeeping, managing donations and preparing the accommodation for families. Please note this includes navigating stairsDemonstrate a positive attitude and eagerness to learnNetworking, building partnerships and coordinating with external service providersIdentify and respond to property maintenance through our maintenance system About you in the role: Certificate IV (minimum) in Community Services, Mental Health, Youth Work or other relevant fieldExperience working with Victims of Domestic and Family Violence or with women and childrenKnowledge of Specialist Homelessness ServicesAbility to think on feet and support women and children who may be experiencing complex issuesThe ability to ensure the client is in the centre of all the work we doAn understanding of the complexities of Domestic and Family ViolenceThe role is designated for a female under section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination ActCurrent Driver's Licence - able to drive a People mover - van To Apply, click the Apply button & attach your Resume and Cover Letter addressing the Essential criteria.
