Details: Clinical practice is responsible for the management of youth and social workers, allied health and school psychology services in all ACT public schools and contributes to the strategic direction of the Engagement and Wellbeing Support Service branch.
The Director of Youth and Social Work service:
Manages multidisciplinary teams to provide timely, high-quality services for students and families in education settings; Strengthens student outcomes through delivery of evidence-based universal, selected and targeted supports for students and school staff within a risk framework; Implements capacity building for schools through a strong understanding of student needs to access and participate in learning and school life; Leads the strategic vision of the service in collaboration with key stakeholders; and Champions the Directorate's strategic vision, commitments, and continuous service improvement. Eligibility/Other requirements: Mandatory Appropriate Tertiary Qualifications. For health professionals, relevant membership, or eligibility for membership with your respective professional body is required. A minimum of 5 years work experience is required. Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) - Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Working with vulnerable people (WWVP) registration (act.gov.au) . Highly Desirable: A current Australian driver's license and access to a private vehicle. Experience working with children, young people, and families. Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately to 13 June 2025. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
