The Director, Media, Social Media and Creative is a senior member of the SCB leadership team, which is responsible for leading the communications function for Queensland's public health system. As part of a large multi-disciplinary team that provides a full range of contemporary communication services to Queensland Health, the Director, Media, Social Media and Creative leads three teams, delivering media, social and digital media, and creative services for Queensland Health.
Your key responsibilities include:
Provide high level strategic media advice to the Minister, Director-General, Chief Health Officer, Deputy Directors-General and other senior executives, including on significant media issues and crisis management, and building and protecting the brand and reputation of Queensland Health.
Set the strategic direction and lead strategic decision-making for all teams within Media, Social Media and Creative – including the Media, Social and Digital Media, and Creative Services teams – within the Strategic Communications Branch.
Lead multiple teams of media and communications professionals across disciplines including media and issues management, social and digital media, and creative services.
The successful person
You will have demonstrated:
Proven ability and experience in providing effective leadership in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating media, social media and creative activity.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work in partnership and build influential and productive relationships across organisational and sector boundaries, particularly in a time of crisis.
High level analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in a media, social media and/or creative services context.
High level ability to proactively identify strategic communications opportunities, develop long-term strategies, and apply sound judgement, in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
