About the RoleLead digital news coverage for the ABC's highly regarded Business Reporting Team, which contributes top rating articles to the ABC News website and produces Australia's flagship daily business news television program, The Business. In collaboration with the Business Editor, the successful applicant will lead the team's digital content creation to engage audiences on the platforms where they consume their content. The role will involve: Commissioning, writing, producing and publishing digital content that meets the ABC's highest editorial and journalistic standards, often to tight deadlines.Contributing high level analysis and context writing.Coordinating the ABC's digital and social media business, economics and finance coverage with the National Digital Newsdesk and Planning Team.Providing leadership, mentoring and coaching to the Business Reporting Team, particularly around digital coverage. About YouYou have a highly developed and deep understanding of business, finance and the economy, and extensive experience reporting and producing digital news in that area. Your skills and experience will also include: Demonstrated experience or high potential in editorial leadership and strong independent editorial judgement. Demonstrated experience of working effectively in small teams, with leadership, coordination and advanced interpersonal skills a strong advantage. Understanding of audience analytics and the impact of consumer patterns on digital strategy and content format. Advanced writing and subediting skills.Experience and proficiency in using web content management systems, with working knowledge of Core Media an advantage.Effective negotiation, influencing and communication skills.
