Details of the offer

I am currently partnering with one of Queensland's largest employers to recruit an experienced Data CoE Lead design and implement a Data Center of Excellence (CoE) with pilot projects, measuring success through data governance, technical expertise and business value delivered.. This is an initial 6-month day rate contract + likely extensions based in Brisbane's CBD with some work flexibility options available.The purpose of this role is to transform the delivery of value from all data assets through an accelerated design and iterative operation of a data centre of excellence.This role will collaborate extensively with senior stakeholders and SME's to: Define the CoE objectives, immediate-term priorities and KPIs based on a thorough understanding of key stakeholder priorities for data insight enabled business outcomes (e.g. revenue growth, profitability, cost optimisation, customer satisfaction / Net Promoter score, risk reduction);Define a high-level Data Centre of Excellence (e.g. hub and spoke) operating model including the establishment of CoE roles, processes, capabilities and frameworks and KPI / success criteria;Define a 2-3 high priority Pilots with a sample of business areas to test the Data CoE delivery model and assess value with learnings and recommendations to be documented per each pilot;Develop a roadmap for the Data CoE comprising concurrent streams (e.g. delivery of high priority data analytics initiatives, uplifting data culture and data talent, implementation of data governance including data domains, data stewards, data quality and related methods, practices, standards, tools and technology and delivery of associated business cases, as required); andCreate senior-level presentations to help communicate insights, aligning stakeholders and driving effective decision making. About You Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology or Management, or related discipline or equivalent proven and successfully industry skills and experience;Broad experience across the following areas: Analytics and business intelligence delivery (e.g. diagnostic, descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics approaches);Data science and AI (e.g. graph analysis, machine learning and natural language processing); data management (e.g. data integration (ETL) or metadata);Information / data architectures (e.g. data fabric, data mesh, data warehouse, data lake or data hub);Data Structures (e.g. structured, semi-structured and unstructured data);Data and analytics governance (e.g. Master Data Management, data quality and data stewardship practices), data security, privacy access and other compliance and regulatory governance practices; 5+ years' experience in leading delivery of strategic data initiatives and the agile achievement of measurable business or enterprise value through major data-driven insights;Proven collaboration and team leadership capability including mentoring of data engineering and data analytics talent;Contemporary knowledge and experience of information and analytics platforms and tools and modern data architectures, technologies and platforms (e.g. cloud, data pipelines, data streaming, real-time analytics); andDemonstrated experience in the development and implementation of practical and valued data architecture practices including data governance, master data management, data quality and enablement strategies.
